E. Deane Kanaly founded a company and a family on the principle that service to others was good business. He passed from us in 2006 but his legacy continues today with Kanaly Trust Company and his sons, Steve, Jeff, and Drew.
Deane Kanaly faithfully served the American Heart Association for many years and, also, gave his significant efforts to The 100 Club, The Alley Theater, Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society,Hermann Park Advisory Council, Houston Baptist University, March of Dimes, Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Palmer Drug Abuse Program, Society for the Performing Arts, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Oklahoma and the Zoological Society of Houston.
Deane Kanaly was a volunteer that the American Heart Association treasured because he believed in the mission of the American Heart Association, to reduce death and disability from heart disease and stroke. Inspired by his dedication, a research grant has been named in his honor. Dr. Kathy L. E. Klos' research will further the understanding of the genetic reasons for high cholesterol.
