Janine Simone Joubert passed away from a sudden, massive heart attack September 20th, 2010 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where she lived and worked for the last 12 years. She was 48 years old. During her youth, Janine filled the shelves with trophies that she won as a member of the United States Twirling Association, as head majorette with the historical Dixie Dolls, and as a state swim and track competitor. Throughout her adulthood, Janine continued to take pride in and maintain her athletic abilities. What is so compelling about Janine's story is that her father, Dr. Daniel Joubert, also died of a sudden, massive heart attack at the age of 48. And like Janine, her father was an accomplished athlete. Because father and daughter died so young, both still having so much to offer humanity, our family feels that supporting the American Heart Association is critical to resolving the crisis of heart disease facing so many families.
