Benjamin Victor Dall, 81, of Fayetteville, NY died peacefully on July 4, 2014. He was born March 13, 1933 in Mount Carmel, PA to parents Anna Marnell Dall and Victor B. Dall.

Ben had an extensive academic career. He earned a B.S. degree in Plant Science - Forestry and a M.F. in Silviculture - Management from Yale University, a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and went on to practice law in N.J. for ten years. He was a member of the N.J. and N.Y. Bar Associations. He earned a Ph.D. in Natural Resources Administration from the Pennsylvania State University. Ben enjoyed teaching and he was a professor of environmental law at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse NY from 1975 until he retired.

Ben was very creative and had many lifelong passions including classical music, darkroom photography, oil painting, piano playing, bread baking, gardening, and above all, fly fishing. He enjoyed fishing in Limestone Creek, a creek he knew so well that he would catch the same fish he threw back the day before.

Ben was married in 1958 to Jane Vollbrecht Dall and was a devoted father to his four daughters and grandfather to his three grandchildren.

Ben is survived by his four loving daughters: Margaret (Dall) Grillet, Judith (Dall) Wegner, Elizabeth Dall, Kathleen Dall; their mother Jane Dall; three wonderful grandchildren: Justin Wegner, Garret Wegner, Claire Wegner; and his cousin Marylou Devers. His is predeceased by his brother Karl Dall. A private service will be held in Mount Carmel, PA.
